About Us

８０年代初めに貧乏旅行の末に日本に流れ着き、英語を教え始めた英国人の彼。その頃日本人の彼女はカナダに留学中。９０年代半ばに屋久島で出会った二人は同居生活を始め、彼は英文編集／プログラミング、彼女は翻訳通訳等の仕事をそれぞれしながら大都会の片隅に居を構えました。２００２年には子猫のモモちゃんも加わって、人間二人猫一匹の家族になりました。

２０００年代も半ばになる頃、どちらからともなく、移住、考えようか．．．と冗談半分に言い出したことがきっかけとなって、それではヨーロッパに住める場所があるのか、見に行ってみようということに。

移住するという実感がもたもたと追いつかないでいる間にも物事はトントン拍子に（？）進み、家を探し始めてから２年後にはポルトガルに移住していました。

We are a UK-Japanese couple who decided to leave one of the world's great cities (Tokyo) and carve out a life for ourselves in one of the quietest corners of Europe (central Portugal). This website is a partial record of how we got here, what motivates us, what keeps us occupied, and how well our cats live... Our blogging began in English and Japanese, but recently has been almost exclusively in Japanese. Sorry about that...
